Beginning the Journey

Introduction to Psychedelic Healing

There are moments in life when our usual ways of coping no longer work. We may feel disconnected from ourselves, stuck in old patterns, emotionally overwhelmed, or longing for deeper meaning, healing, and connection.

Beginning the Journey is a professionally facilitated group ketamine-assisted psychotherapy program designed to introduce participants to the healing potential of expanded states of consciousness within a safe, intentional, and connected therapeutic community.

This program combines evidence-informed psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy with deep attention to preparation, set and setting, integration, and the healing power of shared human experience.

At Reunion Psychedelic Therapy, we believe psychedelic healing is not simply about the medication itself. Meaningful transformation emerges through the combination of intentional preparation, skilled therapeutic support, carefully curated environments, and integration into daily life.

This experience is designed for individuals who are seeking:

  • emotional healing,

  • greater self-understanding,

  • increased connection,

  • relief from patterns of depression, anxiety, trauma, or disconnection,

  • or a deeper relationship with themselves and life.

A Community-Based Healing Experience

Healing often happens in connection.

One of the unique aspects of this program is the group format. Participants move through the journey together, creating opportunities for authenticity, shared humanity, emotional resonance, and meaningful support.

Many participants find that being witnessed in their healing process — while also witnessing the journeys of others — becomes a profound part of the experience itself.

The program honours both modern clinical research and the long-standing traditions of psychedelic healing, emphasizing intentionality, mindfulness, community, music, inward reflection, and compassionate therapeutic care.

Our Approach

Reunion Psychedelic Therapy is a licensed and accredited clinic operating within Alberta’s regulated psychedelic-assisted therapy framework.

Our multidisciplinary team includes psychologists, nurses, physicians, and therapists with specialized training in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, trauma-informed care, and integrative therapeutic approaches.

Our approach is psychotherapy-forward, meaning we view the therapeutic relationship, preparation, integration, and emotional processing as central to healing.

What the Program Includes

Individual Psychological Intake

Each participant begins with a one-on-one psychological intake session to assess appropriateness, establish safety, clarify intentions, and prepare for the experience.

Two Group Preparation Sessions

Preparation sessions help participants:

  • understand the psychedelic process,

  • learn about set and setting,

  • develop tools for navigating expanded states,

  • cultivate trust and emotional safety,

  • and establish meaningful intentions for the journey ahead.

Three Ketamine-Assisted Group Dosing Sessions

Participants engage in three professionally supported ketamine-assisted psychotherapy sessions in a carefully designed therapeutic setting with psychological and nursing support throughout the experience.

These sessions emphasize:

  • inward reflection,

  • emotional processing,

  • nervous system safety,

  • mindfulness,

  • and meaningful connection.

Two Group Integration Sessions

Integration is an essential part of psychedelic healing.

These sessions help participants make sense of their experiences and begin translating insight into lasting change, increased self-awareness, healthier relationships, and greater alignment in daily life.

Beginning the Journey

Transformation rarely begins with certainty.

Often, it begins with a willingness to turn inward, to loosen old patterns, and to step into the unknown with support.

Beginning the Journey offers an opportunity to do that within a safe, intentional, and professionally guided therapeutic community.
