I’m receiving psychedelic treatment somewhere else. Can I get therapy at Reunion?
Yes, our therapy services are available to individuals receiving psychedelic treatments from other clinics.
How is Psychedelic treatment administered?
There are multiple routes of administration for Psychedelic medicines. At Reunion Medicine is administered by intramuscular injection or by sublingual lozenge.
What are the effects during treatment?
The most common experience from treatment is short-term dissociation. This medication often distorts your perception of sight and sound while producing experiences of detachment from your environment or yourself, allowing you to gain new perspectives. During treatment, you may also temporarily experience the following:
feeling separate from your thoughts and feelings
visual hallucinations
alterations in perception of time and space
intense emotional states
headaches
nausea
dizziness
blurred vision
drowsiness
elevated mood
anxiety
elevations in blood pressure and heart rate
A member from our interdisciplinary team will be with you for the duration of your experience to assist and support you through any physical, emotional, or psychological challenges you may experience. You will never be left alone.
What can I expect during a session?
Sessions are a collaborative space where you can openly share your experiences, explore patterns in your thoughts and emotions, and develop tools for resilience and self-understanding, all guided by a compassionate therapist.
How long are dosing sessions?
Dosing sessions are typically 2.5 - 3 hours in length. However depending on which psychedelic medicine is being used, your session could be up to 6 hours in length.
What therapeutic approaches do you use?
Our therapists use evidence-based methods like Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Psychodynamic Therapy to support deep, lasting growth.
How is individual therapy different from group therapy?
While group therapy provides community and shared experiences, individual therapy focuses on your personal story, helping you gain insight and work through specific challenges at your own pace.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Your credit card information will be collected at intake to secure your first appointment. If a credit card number is not available, other arrangements will need to be made prior to your initial session to secure the appointment.
Payment is taken at the end of each session. We accept all credit cards, debit, cash, cheque, and e-transfers.
You will receive a receipt, which you can submit for reimbursement from your health insurance/benefits provider.
Fees for psychological services can be claimed under tax deductible health services on your income tax return.
Can my insurance cover these services?
Some services may be eligible for partial or full coverage by your private health insurance/employee benefits plan. If applicable, you are responsible for contacting your insurance company directly for questions regarding coverage of these services, to learn details of your coverage, verify that services will be covered by your policy, and any conditions of this coverage.
