Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
When trauma symptoms persist, a different path may be possible.
If you have tried trauma-focused therapy, medication, or other established approaches and are still living with intrusive memories, hypervigilance, avoidance, emotional numbness, or disconnection, you are not alone.
At Reunion Psychedelic Therapy, we offer an evidence-informed, trauma-sensitive model that combines psychotherapy with carefully screened and medically supervised psychedelic treatment. The goal is to create conditions in which difficult material may be approached with greater safety, flexibility, and support.
Understanding Persistent Symptoms
What is treatment-resistant PTSD?
“Treatment-resistant PTSD” is not a single, universally defined diagnosis. The term is often used when significant PTSD symptoms continue despite adequate trials of evidence-based psychotherapy, medication, or both.
Persistent symptoms do not mean that you have failed treatment- or that healing is no longer possible. They may indicate that a different pace, approach, therapeutic relationship, or combination of supports is needed.
Care begins with an individualized medical and psychological assessment to understand your symptoms, history, previous treatments, and goals.
An emerging option for PTSD symptoms
Care that supports both the nervous system and the therapeutic process
Early research suggests that certain psychedelic medicines may reduce PTSD symptoms for some individuals.
Increased psychological flexibility : Some individuals experience greater distance from rigid-fear based patterns.
Support for trauma processing : The experience can create a different vantage point from which to approach difficult emotions and memories.
Paired with psychotherapy : Preparation and integration help connect the treatment experience to everyday life.
Delivered with medical oversight : Every client completes a comprehensive screening to ensure safety and eligibility.
